Here we are the day before January 1st, 2009.  Another year is before us, a time to start fresh, a time to reflect on the accomplishments of 2008 and set goals for 2009.  I've always been a strong believer that with goals come clarity, focus, and accomplishment in life.  As Johann Goethe said, "Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least."

To help define my goals for 2009, I've divided my life into eight different areas of significance:

  • Career
  • Money
  • Health
  • Family & Friends
  • Significant Other / Romance
  • Personal Growth / Spirituality
  • Fun & Recreation
  • Physical Environment

Take a look at each of the above areas of your life.  What have you accomplished this year?  What would you like to accomplish in 2009?  One of my goals is to spend more time outdoors doing the things I love - hiking, camping, snowboarding or mountain biking at least three times a month.  What are some of your goals for 2009?  How did you arrive at them?
