Upcoming FWL Workshop on March 24th: Yoga and Leadership

Yoga

Back by popular demand, Future Women Leaders will be hosting another session of Yoga and Leadership on Thursday, March 24th at the HUB in San Francisco.

What to expect:

Expect to engage in the physical practice of yoga to explore and observe your tendencies as a leader, and to begin cultivating a new way of leading at work and in life with greater ease and effectiveness.

Workshop description:

In Yoga and Leadership, we strip away the typical language that we use to describe leadership, and get to the naturalness of what it is to be a leader. The physical practice of yoga becomes a way to explore, observe, and cultivate change. This exploration is grounded in the philosophy that we are who we are, everywhere we are. It doesn't matter if we observe ourselves on our yoga mats or in the boardroom, our tendencies or the way we show up, are the same.

In this workshop the tendencies we will explore relevant to leadership are, responses in difficult situations, giving and receiving support, capacity for listening, and work/life balance.

The principles and qualities of yoga that we will begin cultivating to support a way of leading with greater ease and effectiveness are:

  • Presence: cultivating greater presence for clearer actions
  • Vitality: putting forth effort that is balanced and sustainable
  • Equanimity: maintaining a calm mind for appropriate action under pressure
  • Restoration: understanding how to balance taking care of self and others

Join us for an exploration of leadership on our mats. My teacher, Baron Baptiste, once said, “Who you are on your mat and how you live your life, and you as a teacher and leader of others, are not separate things.”

Open to all levels, please bring your own mat if you have one, or email Jenny at jenny@rorencollective.com if you need one.

This program will be held at the The Hub in San Francisco.  To learn more about how yoga is tied to leadership, please review the enclosed attachment.  To register for this event, please click on the following link.

** Here are some past reviews of this event:

  • I loved the Yoga & Leadership event.  Jenny was straightforward, smart and very supportive – the combination of yoga and leadership training was a phenomenal pairing.
  • The approach to the Yoga and Leadership workshop was very creative and innovative.  It was well-facilitated and allowed the opportunity for meaningful interaction with other attendees within the event itself.
